Luke 18 is a parish based community for children. Its name comes from the passage of Luke 18: 16- 17 which reads, “and Jesus said to them: Let the children come to me and do not prevent them because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of heaven like a child shall not enter it.”

64th Weekend
The Weekend is an introduction and discovery into the faith family- the Church. Given by members of the community under the guidance of Adult Leaders and Bridge Builders. The Weekend is open to children, ages 11- 15 years old.
What I learned from my Luke Weekend was that you are always never alone, no matter where you are in the world. Luke 18 taught me that you will always have a faith family that loves and supports you even when you’re going through problems in life. I also learned that God is present and that we can ask him anything.

When my sister had told me that it was a church group, I never thought I would learn so much. I learned that you can be with your family but you can also not really “be” with your family. I also learned that we should be thankful for our blessings because some people don’t have the things we have like a loving family or supportive friends and we should appreciate them, and the most memorable thing I learned when I joined was that we are all ONE big FAMILY.

Luke 18: Faith is a Decision

LUKE 18 WEEKEND
An event very special in the hearts of the members of our Faith Family happened last August 1-3. It was the 63rd Luke 18 Weekend. The Luke weekend is a retreat for 11-15 year olds who want to meet new friends and find a new home in the church. We, the Lukers, have one important goal in mind and that is to spread God’s love.
