Social Services follow Jesus in His ministry to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” As the spirit of outreach is to look for opportunities to help others, there will be activities to be promoted and provided for by the ministry.
While other ministries may also have their outreach programs, Social Services will act as coordinating body to ensure that programs and activities undertaken by other ministries do not overlap. The ministry reviews, assesses and prioritizes outreach programs proposed by other ministries to be recommended to the Finance Council.
Social Services evaluate and recommend to the Pastor requests for assistance from other dioceses and organizations.
