CCD JUNIOR MINISTRIES
CCD encourages the children to participate more actively in the Mass. We therefore offer the following three (3) junior ministries:
CCD Choir – open to students from all levels
CCD Junior Lectors Group – open to students in Level 6 – Pre-Confirmation and above
CCD Altar Servers Group – open to students aged 7 years old and above, who have already made their First Holy Communion
Practices for all of the above are held outside regular school hours and we recommend that students join these ministries to get a first-hand experience in Parish involvement.
CCD PROJECTS
CCD Outreach & other Special Projects
As part of the curriculum, there are auxiliary activities that are afforded to the students. These include, but are not limited to, outreach activities, visiting guest speakers, recollections and retreats. Parents are urged to allow their children to join these activities even if held outside of class hours.
Light-a-Parol (LAP) Project
CCD sponsors an annual fundraiser, the Light-a-Parol (LAP) project; this is launched in November/December and parents are encouraged to extend their full support. Proceeds from the LAP are used to support the Parish and to defray donations to accredited beneficiaries of CCD’s outreach programs, plus other projects approved by the CCD Committee. These beneficiaries will be specified in the LAP circular. A full record of transactions and funds raised is available at the office.
